Hi, I’m Haley!
Hello, thanks so much for visiting my Get Attached blog. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself, my story, and why I created this blog.
I would describe myself as a millennial with an old soul who loves Jesus and seeks to love others like Jesus. As a 26 year old, single woman I became a licensed foster parent in the state of Georgia in October of 2021.
God has taken me on quite a journey getting to the place I am right now. I graduated from Covenant College in 2017 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (concentrating in Business, Spanish, and Community Development.) Since then I spent a year working with Sacred Road Ministries on the Yakama Indian reservation, three years at an assisted living community as a memory care unit caregiver and a cook, and then currently the Guest Services Supervisor at a Golf Club and Resort.
I started this blog because I wanted a place to be real with people about the struggles, joys, and heartbreak of foster care. I often write to work through the things I know are true in my head to help them make their way to my heart. I write with the hope that others would feel less alone in this journey, to educate on the need and ways to help even if you don’t open your home to foster care, and to share they ways I’ve been sustained by my loving heavenly Father.
